Dear Friends of St. John Paul II High School,
What makes a school special? Is it the care of staff for the students? Is it the sense of family that pervades it? Or is it the guiding focus, the charism of the school? Of the three I propose the latter reason as the primary one. Many schools can boast a caring staff, many schools see themselves as “family”. How many can claim to build their school on the basis that Christ Jesus makes the world intelligible? How many acknowledge that the key elements of education built over time, and a Classical Liberal Catholic method of education produces the best formed and most well rounded graduates?
Many schools might have newer and shinier facilities, but few have the quality of education found at our school. When the door to the classroom is shut and class begins, it doesn’t matter if the room is on top of a high peak, sitting in a magnificent building, or situated in a parish building. What truly matters is how the teacher is going to administer class. The teachers at St John Paul II High School provide precisely what a student needs: they do more than simply present information, they bring it to life as a raging bronco that must be tamed, wrestled with and subdued so it becomes useful.
The years may lay lightly upon us now, we are still in the early stages, but a great beginning augurs a fantastic future. Come grow with us, be a part of the unfolding story of our school, and help us build something beautiful for God.
